Natural Pet Allergy Relief

About 7 out of 10 households now own a pet, with pet allergies affecting up to 10-20% of the population!

The most common pet allergies are to cats and dogs, although smaller pets like guinea pigs and rabbit are starting to trigger reactions now too.

Most people experience reactions upon exposure to the animal, but some reactions can happen without direct contact, from shed fur, dander or saliva left on household surfaces.

Learn how Positive Association Technique (PAT) can help provide natural pet allergy relief, in our Free PAT Information E-Pack.

Pet Allergy Symptoms

Allergens from pets can remain in rugs and furniture for 4-6 weeks after contact, and allergenic proteins can stay floating around in the air for much longer.

They have even found cat hair in Antarctica!

Reactions to pets can contribute to symptoms of perennial hay fever, asthma and eczema, such as;

triggers

Pet Allergy Triggers

It’s a common misconception that pet allergies are caused by reactions to the shed fur of the pet.

But most people are actually reacting to the allergenic proteins that get stuck to their fur, and are released when they shed the fur.

So while low shedding dog breeds are deemed “hypo-allergenic”, and do shed less of these allergens, it is still possible to experience reactions.

Other airborne triggers also commonly stick to their fur, can contribute to reactions; such as dust, dust mites & pollen.

Natural Pet Allergy Relief

We see lots of children and adults struggling with pet allergy symptoms in our clinics, who are frustrated by the lack of long-term medical treatment options.

With Positive Association Technique (PAT) our Naturopaths able to provide natural pet allergy relief, as part of a holistic approach to reduce the frequency and intensity of your symptoms.

PAT is a natural allergy treatment performed by qualified Naturopaths, to help alleviate the symptoms association with allergies, sensitivities and intolerances.

You can learn more about PAT in our podcast episode – “What is Positive Association Technique (PAT)?”

We use a form of muscle testing (kinesiology) to assess your reactions to various food, airborne and chemical substances, to help pinpoint your individual triggers.

We then use a chiropractic tool, called an Acustim, to gently stimulate acupressure points and nerve bundles down either side of the spine, while you’re holding onto a sample vial of the substance (e.g. dust mites).

This helps to re-train your body to no longer react negatively to the substance, and relief the associated symptoms.

All of our practitioners are highly qualified and experienced Naturopaths, who undergo further training to provide Positive Association Technique (PAT).

We have Naturopaths providing PAT from clinic locations all over Australia and in Auckland, NZ.

Please note that PAT cannot “cure” allergies – we aim to reduce your reactions and help manage your symptoms. We do not intend to raise unrealistic expectations. If symptoms persist, consult your health care professional.
